Australia’s Irish-born population increases


There is now almost 90,000 people born on the island of Ireland living in Australia, according to census data provided to the Irish Echo by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS)

LIMERICK MAN Makes It In OZ
Using His Unique Talent.

Martin McKenna has had a dog’s life.  The Limerick native first came to Australia’s attention as a self-taught dog expert, with a remarkable back-story.  His first book, The Dog Man: An Expert Explains Dog Sense, was published by the ABC in 2001. This despite his illiteracy.

He took part in a regular ABC local radio segment giving advice to callers about their dogs.

Australia Minister in Ireland seeking workers

A Minister from Australia's Northern Territory as well as business, industry and government officials are to travel to Ireland to help address the Territory's skills shortage.
